It’s Official

Published by Becky at 10:02 pm under Our Blog

I turned in my laptop computer on Wednesday and it was officially my last day of work. (Thanks, Lori, for watching Kevin.) I almost had a second thought about it with the option to work a flex schedule, but I knew that it wouldn’t work for me. I’ve waited a long time to be a mom and now that I am (I’m a mom, wow!!!) I want to spend as much time with my baby as I can. I spent a lot of time and worked hard to get my education and my license and it was all worth it so I can be an overeducated stay at home mom. I am so grateful for John for working so hard to provide for our family so I can be at home. He does a good job at it.

So, bring on the play dates. I’m thinking the beach, the park, Disneyland, the zoo… Oh, wait, I hear the dishes, the laundry, the dirty floors and dinner calling!

Who wouldn’t want to spend all day, every day, with this cute face?!

I’m so happy for you that you get to stay home with your little guy. He’s adorable, and I hope you two will enjoy every moment together. :)

That’s so awesome Becky! Congratulations! I’m so excited to have playdates with you and Kevin, even if it’s all the way in May! I hope I’ll get to follow in your footsteps after our baby is born.

I love this post! I love that you get to stay home with your little guy! I love that you are an over-educated sahm! And I especially love how you put your titles after your name!

I have a feeling this will be me once we have children. This is what happens when you don’t get married and start a family at the age of 20. You start a wonderful career that is very rewarding, but just not as rewarding as being a mother. :)

Way to go Becky! I bet Kevin is cheering too! I’m happy that you can stay at home. That is how it should be! Love you, Mom

It is hard to make the choice to stay home, but it will definately be worth it.

Same here. Not quite as many letters after my name, but I felt the same way and wanted to throw a party the day I quit (plus I hated my job). It’s great being home… but word to the wise- find a hobby or take a class or something outside of the home. Being a stay at home mom is fabulous, but you still need to do things for you. Mommy groups and library story time are great, but don’t forget to do something strictly adult every once in awhile! I didn’t at first and realized how much I needed it. Choir is good, or a fitness class- that’s what I’m doing one night a week while Rich watches Melody.

Congrats on becoming a “domestic engineer” (that’s what my insurance agent calls the job!!!)
