We are attempting to get Kevin adjusted to sleeping during the NIGHT and awake during the DAY. When Becky was pregnant Kevin was really active between 10-12AM and throughout the night. Now that he is born, we are trying to break him of his nocturnal clock. We put him down tonight at 8PM and let him sleep until 10PM. Then I woke him up at 10PM and played with him. We changed his diaper, fed him and put him back to bed. We shall so how this goes. I really hope we can get him sleeping on a normal cycle soon. He is now 2 days old and I think its a great time to try.

Just cute…..
Kudos to you for trying to get the little guy on a schedule! He will be very sleepy for about the first 6 weeks, and it newborns are supposed to get 16 hours of sleep a day, not to mention their little bellies can’t go without food for more than 4 or 5 hours. Just keep trying to get him into a eat, play, sleep schedule during the day. Don’t get discouraged though if it takes more than a couple of days, and ends being weeks.
Biggest piece of advice that I didn’t follow until my third child: sleep when Kevin does! Don’t try to get housework done, or anything else; it will always be there, but the opportunity to sleep won’t be.
Best of luck. It took us 5 weeks and a lot of ice cubes!
