100 days

So today marks 100 days until my due date.  I always thought it was pretty cool when people would write about being at 100 days, but I don’t really have anything to say.  I will say I don’t really want to get any bigger than I am now, but I know it is inevitable.  During the day I really don’t mind, it’s only at night when I’m trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in that I don’t really like it.  And that’s usually because I ate too much food for dinner and my belly feels like it’s about to pop.  Some days it just feels really stretched.

I don’t want to make this an all pregnancy blog, but it seems like there’s not a lot else happening around our house these days.  We go to work and then when we get home we are tired so we don’t do much.  I have to straighten up the house, I hate having clutter and whenever I have dishes in the sink I think my apartment is a huge mess.  I am worried for when there’s another person in the house who may not hate clutter as much as John and I do.  John recently discovered hulu so he’s been watching tv on the internet.  He likes to unwind at the end of the day by reading/watching the news.  We’ve been trying to go to bed earlier so it really seems like we’re only home for about 2 hours in the evening with time to do anything.  I am working on my ethics exam for the CPA and when that is done I will really have lots of time to hang around at home.  I really need to start going out walking or something.  I have gotten quite lazy with my excuse that I have to study all the time.

To celebrate St. Patrick’s day I went to an Irish pub with some of my co-workers.  It was packed.  The waitress tried to get me to put whiskey in my lemonade but I showed her my belly and she said that was a good excuse not to.  Then tonight I went to an awesome enrichment activity.  The ladies in my ward are so good about adding all the little details to make it a special event.  We had displays of pictures and dresses; blessing, baptism, and wedding dresses.  The little girls modeled their baptism dresses and the young women modeled wedding dresses and we had to guess whose dress was whose.  (And I won a pretty pot of tulips!)  And they made an awesome video that I was interviewed for a while ago.  It made me cry.  The video had clips of people talking about womanhood, motherhood, men talking about their wives, children talking about their mothers, I loved it!  Then it also had pictures of sisters in the ward in their 3 dresses.  It was wonderful.  Plus I got to visit with lots of sisters that I haven’t talked to in a while (or ever, really).

So, here I am with 100 days to go.  I can’t figure out how to make a cute smile, but I guess it’s the belly that we’re really looking at here…(wow, it’s bigger than I thought!)

You still look adorable. I have to tell you that as I was looking at your picture, Ellie came up and pointed at you and when I scrolled up past your picture, she came and scrolled it back down to look at your picture again. Then she pointed at you again. I think she might remember you!

  3. Becky says:

I love Ellie. She is so smart. I think she is just excited to have a boy cousin to boss around.

I love it! I love that you are having a normal life and that there isn’t any craziness involved. Life is good!

Congrats on your milestone! I, too, hate clutter. It is pretty easy to teach kids to clean up, especially when it becomes a game. But when they are in bed I do revel in the order and neatness of the house.

  6. Kevin says:

Hey Becky you’re looking a little shorter than I remember you! Love, DAD

  7. John says:

I keep telling Becky she needs to get a body pillow. Maybe this weekend we will go buy one. She is right, we don’t do much on week days. I am sure things will get more exciting once the baby gets here.

Oh my goodness how out of it am I?! I didn’t even know you were expecting. I remember reading something you wrote that hinted at it, but nothing since then. Congratulations!!! I’m so excited for you. Do you know what you’re having?

Now if we can just get “Aunt” Laura married off… :-)

    Love you and miss you!

PS- sorry you’re uncomfortable at night- I was too- from about 3 months on!
