I think this picture needs a little explanation. We are planning to go to Hawaii next year shortly after the baby is born. Yesterday we went to the doctor and found out it’s a boy! (I’m breaking my dad’s batting average and now he is just a regular grandpa with grandsons and granddaughters, before he had an 8-year-old grandson and then 9 granddaughters). Anyway, so we’re breaking the “curse”. So after the doctor visit we went to the mall to find a cute outfit for a boy. There are not as many options as there are for girls, so we decided we would get him some swim trunks for his first big trip. We are surprised to be having a boy but we are very excited and can’t wait to meet him. ~Becky
Marcy – here is a picture of the baby’s shorts compared to John’s shorts. I hope you get to meet him before we go to Hawaii too – will you be coming to California??

What?! Who is going to Hawaii? Have a ton of fun!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m very excited for you, and for your dad Kevin! lol. Ethan needed a boy cousin to play with. I was so excited when I found out I was having Ethan, I remember wanting to buy something boyish… it is true there are not as many clothing racks available for boys as there are for girls, but if you look you can find some really cute things. Boys are so fun!!
that is so fun that you guys get to go to Hawaii. I’m sure you will have a lot of fun.
Hurray! That is so fun! You will be the cutest parents to one of the cutest little boys!! congrats again!
Becky, You should put something next to those shorts so we can see how small they are! But, congratulations on your boy! Can’t wait to see him. Hope to see him in person before you go to Hawaii. Love, Marcy
Congratulations!!! That is so exciting. I hope I get to meet you and/or him before you take off to Hawaii. It is true there are not as many cute things as there are for girls, but there are some great things out there. My favorite right now is dressing my two boys in shirts, ties, and suit coats.
I am so happy for you both. Congrats again!

Becky,
A boy…how wonderful! I couldn’t locate your e-mail address, so here’s the Apple Crisp Recipe. Sorry it took so long. I’ve have Ed and Will for a few days and they’ve both been sick.
2/3 cup sugar
2 T. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp cinnamon
4 cups sliced apples
Topping:
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup butter
Mix sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon together and combine with sliced apples. Mix together well and spread in 9X13 ” pan.
TOPPING: Combine dry ingredients and rub in butter to make crumbs. Put crumbs on top of apple mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
Boys are the best! And even though the cute clothes are harder to find, there’s nothing like a tiny pair of Levi’s and a jean jacket or an itty-bitty suit to make your heart melt.
Thank you for breaking the curse!! We are so excited for you guys!!
you can always find john deere stuff and carthart when they get older…i’m sure john will love that! congrats! next time you’ll have to wait till delivery day, i’m telling ya, it is way fun…i don’t think we’ll ever find out before they actually arrive!
I agree with Maria. It is so much fun to wait!! I thought it was funny that other people hated the suspense!
You should definitely get some John Deere and Carhart stuff…as long as your willing to share when I have a boy!!
congratulations! i didn’t know you were having a baby when i saw you at Christmas! you look great. will you take him surfing in hawaii?
Congratulations!!!
Becky,
