Holiday Time Pictures

Published by John under Our Blog

We went with some friends to San Juan Capistrano on Saturday to take pictures. The pictures came out great and we had a good time walking around the historic downtown. You can view the photos taken by Lori on her blog here. (I think she took this blog down.)

By the way, our friend Lori is very talented.  You should check out this blog to see some of the creative things she has come up with! She is having a giveaway, but you have to enter by tonight, sorry I’m so slow, I’ve been kind of preoccupied.  ~Becky

5 things

Published by Becky under Our Blog

I didn’t really get tagged but I haven’t written in what seems like forever so I wanted to say something!  I did get tagged (2x) where you write 6 things about yourself but I haven’t done it yet and I have a list at home that I will write on here someday.

5 things I was doing 10 years ago:

1. Thinking about doing the study abroad in Zimbabwe
2. Trying to be a good RA for the 60 girls living in my dorm
3. Trying out my new major at BYU – Recreation Management
4. Writing letters to a missionary
5. hanging around with the “Random Chickens”

5 things on my “to-do” list today

1. Clear the review points on my projects at work
2. Study as much as I can after work
3. mail McKenzie her Mary Kay
4. write on my blog (check)
5. Since I really can’t think of anything else, follow up with more people at work

5 snacks I enjoy

1. cereal
2. chips and salsa
3. Kit Kats = my favorite candy bar, and whenever I think about that I think of Maria trying to “investigate” my favorite candy bar so she could surprise me with some for Christmas…Maria, do you remember that?
4. those chewy granola bars with lots of nuts and dipped in peanut/almond/cashew butter on the bottom
5. pretty much anything with sugar and peanut butter

5 things I would do if I were a millionare

1. Pay off all my debt
2. Buy a house, not a very big house though
3. Buy John whatever Cadillac he wants
4. Go visit my family a lot
5. Talk to John’s friend Keith about how to prepare for a disaster and get whatever we need

5 places I’ve lived

1. out on a farm (Hazelton by the address but not technically Hazelton)
2. In all the dorms at BYU (Provo)
3. Antelope, CA
4. Aliso Viejo, CA
5. Murray, UT

5 jobs I’ve had

1. Tax accountant
2. all types of “assistant” in college – resident assistant, conference assistant, teacher assistant, graduate assistant
3. McDonald’s
4. Program Coordinator at the Center for Youth Citizenship
5. Macey’s bakery clerk

5 People I tag (I’m copying Holly)

1. You
2. You
3. You
4. You
5. Lindsay

Rules: Each player answers the question themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person that tagged you know when you’ve answered the questions on your blog.

Ego

Published by John under Our Blog

Ego can hinder a person from becoming great. Axl Rose is a perfect example of this. He is incredibly talanted but because of his ego, he has been unable to produce an album since 1993. Now, after 15 years of waiting, Guns N’ Roses is finally going to release Chinese Democracy. It’s rumored to be the most expensive ever to produce. I am looking forward to it’s release and it will be the first CD I have bought in a long time. The album is going on Sale at Best Buy on 11/23/08.

Rainbows Are Cool

Published by John under Our Blog

So, we got some more prop 8 happenings in CA. Above is the best sign I saw out of all the protest signs. I also found a really cool blog called http://yesonprop8.blogspot.com/. They have a really intersting video posted up of the protesting by the LA temple.

If you don’t know what Prop 8 is, check out the video below.

Fun with Cameras

Published by John under Our Blog

“Toshiba’s XDE technology, a circular rig with 200 Gigashot HD camcorders and 20,000 gigabytes of data later, they created this little number, which mixes full motion video, Matrix camera moves and a healthy dash of hipsterism.”
