Empty Suit Economics

Published by John at 8:02 pm under Our Blog

A long time ago in 1977, Jimmy Carter got elected. Jimmy Carter only served for 1 term as president and did one thing right, he gave us Ronald Reagan. Jimmy Carter destroyed the economy of the United States. Below is a list of just a few of Jimmy Carter’s accomplishments.

  • The 1979 energy crisis, oil shortages
  • Double-digit inflation
  • Very high interest rates, the prime rate hit 21.5 percent in December 1980
  • High unemployment
  • Slow economic growth, productivity growth declined to an average annual rate of 1 percent
  • Stagflation

Now, fast forward to 2008, Barack Obama is running for president. Obama is going to deliver the same type of Empty Suit Economics that Carter delivered. Obama is going to destroy the economy and I am cool with it! I would rather have a destroyed economy, which you can protect against, than a destroyed ideology.

However, recently sleazeball Joe Biden said something that got me really concerned about my vote for Obama.

Keep in mind; this is not the first time he has made such comments. If Biden does what he says, it will create a situation where every future President of the United States will be afraid to lead and make decisions. I don’t want our President worrying about if some future President is going to pursue criminal charges against them. Biden’s comment is irresponsible, one dimensional, and would neuter the office of the President.

I can accept a destroyed economy but I cannot accept an attack on the Conservative ideology or the power associated with the office of President of the United States.

Looks like I am going to be voting with either the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party, or the Green Party. We will have to just wait and see what kind of mood I am in on Election Day. :-)

This comment is for Becky: Yes, we will most likely be moving. Ryan’s work is going out of business, and we have until November to find another job. So, at the moment we don’t know where we will be going, whether it’s staying in twin or moving elsewhere… we will see

When I watched that video it sounded to me as if he was just trying to please the people in his audience, by saying that they were searching records for any proof of criminal activity- cause honestly, I really doubt that criminal charges will be brout (i can’t think of how that’s spelled) against Bush.
