can’t think of a good title…just a little ranting
We were in Hollywood and we got breakfast at McDonald’s (yuck, I know, it was John’s idea). Anyway, I was sitting near the door and I saw this family leave and throw their garbage away. Then I saw a man walk in and dig the cup out of the garbage, take it over to the fountain to fill it with soda, then walk out. Not a care in the world what anyone thought or what was right, he just took what he wanted and went on his way. I was kind of irritated because we always have to pay for our John’s soda. Can’t this guy go find a job somewhere?
On a larger scale, I heard one of the commercials on the way to work today that I cannot stand. “Call us and we will negotiate your credit card debt so you only have to pay 10% of what you owe!” I HATE those commercials. It just irks me to think that people wracked up tons of debt on their credit cards buying movies and junk food and clothes and tvs and then they don’t have to pay up. Last week we paid the last of our 20K+ in credit card debt. We paid back every penny. I wish we wouldn’t have had it in the first place, but I couldn’t imagine just not paying it back.
Maybe I’m heartless and cruel, but it just irritates me when people don’t take accountability. (I hope none of you have ever had to steal sodas or negotiate your way out of credit card debt, I’m sure there are extenuating circumstances.)

Right on! Congrats on paying back the 20K. Isn’t it a great feeling? We just paid off my student loans, and now are working on Matt’s loans. I keep thinking some day they will be gone…..
Oh boy, student loans are another story. I had zero student loans when I met John. But now I have way too much. The only solace is that even if we only make the minimum payments, I know they will be paid off in a predetermined amount of time (even if it is 2017).
it is so true! don’t get me started on all the people i see using government freebies that WE are paying for…let alone credit card debt. we have an operating loan to farm with (scary!!!), but i just paid a good portion of it off today with 1st cutting. yeah!! that is crazy about the soda…that’s a little too gross in my book. your post of disneyland looked like so much fun!!!
That is pretty gross about the guy digging it out of the garbage! If your broke its one thing…he could have gotten like water or something other than scamming free soda. Congrats on paying off your credit card debt! That is an awesome achievement!
