calories

Published by John under Our Blog

I am at work and I probably shouldn’t do this right now, but I couldn’t ignore Jocelyn’s plea for more postings. And I had to share my weakness.

Last night after work I didn’t have time to go home before visiting teaching so I stopped at the only place I knew right before my companion’s house…Carl’s Jr. Unfortunately, Carl does not have Jr. hamburgers. Those babies are big. And of course, I cannot resist a burger when it has cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and onion rings. It is close to perfection. So of course I cannot just eat the giant burger, I have to get fries too, and not just regular fries – criss-cut fries. Mmm, and they are always fresh, I guess not everyone likes to splurge. Well, to top it all off, I was taken in by the signs for the new milkshake flavor

Yes, Carl’s Jr. now makes a Cap’n Crunch milkshake. And it is yummy. It would only be better if they used the peanut butter cap’n crunch instead. And don’t get the whipped cream because it ends up with a wierd residue at the end…or maybe that was from the cereal? Anyway, it was surprisingly delicious, and the pieces of cereal didn’t scratch the roof of your mouth. So good, you should all have one.

The moral of my story is this…I ate too much food and I had a stomach ache the rest of the night. As good as it sounds, do not give in! You must resist! To help me in my fight, I visited a new website. John’s aunt Gaye told us about it…it is fitday.com and it is amazing. All you do is search for the foods you eat during the day and enter the amount you ate and it calculates the calories and the fats and carbs and all that stuff. It makes it easy to count calories. All you have to do is be honest about your serving sizes.

I made an account right away but I didn’t bother to enter my calories for yesterday…I don’t want to add any outliers.

By the way, this is Becky. John doesn’t eat nearly as much as I do. :)

Utah Alumni

Published by John under Our Blog

So on Thursday night Becky & I went to a University of Utah Alumni event at Paramount Studios. We got to Hollywood a little early, so we walked around the neighborhood. We really like older homes in established neighborhoods. Someday we want to move into a neighborhood like the one we walked through. At Paramount Studios we went to the movie theater and they had lite appetizers & drinks. Then we went into the theater and took our seats, first John Nogawski the CEO of  CBS Television Distribution spoke to us. Then president of the university Michael K. Young spoke.

After about 20 minutes of people talking Iron Man started. The theater was really nice, big cushy seats and lots of leg room. There were about 150 people there. The movie screen was huge, unlike the normal movie theater. About half way through the movie the fire alarm went off. We all had to evacuate and wait for the approval to go back in. The sub woofers overheated and tripped the fire alarm. We resumed the movie and finished it. The movie was really good and we had a wonderful evening. I am looking forward to the next event.

Proves My Point.

Published by John under Our Blog

I have this theory that anyone who makes an average salary (median income for a household $76,409) can do anything they want with their money, you just have to be willing to give up a few things.

Case in point: You can drive an Audi R8 that has a base price of $109,00o; but you have to be willing to live in an apartment.

I have seen some really nice cars in our apartment garage.

The Fun Part…

Published by John under Our Blog

The fun part of my job is my company has developed a regular habit of drugging it’s employees and they feed us really good food on occasion.

Eva’s not the baby anymore

Published by John under Our Blog

And I don’t think she’s very happy about it.  Look at the way she is looking at Paisley!  These are my nieces who I have not met yet.  Sometimes living in CA is not that great.  Look what I’m missing!
