Nike+

Published by John under Our Blog

I just made a challenge and added my Sister-In-Law. We are going to run 75 miles total by the end of June. This should be fun. If anyone else has a Nike+ and wants to be added let me know. ~ John

Also note, I put the Nike+ widget on the bottom left of our blog. I need to run more.

one down, three to go…maybe

Published by John under Our Blog

Well, I took my first CPA exam. The actual test wasn’t too stressful, it was all the anticipation and wondering how I would ever remember all that information. And of course knowing it wasn’t all going to be on the test but there was no way to know what would be on the test. Anyway, I did it and I’m really glad it’s over and now I get to take the rest of the day off work! What a deal.

Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to me that my friends and family love me and have confidence in my abilities. It really helps me. And I would like to publicly apologize to John for being so mean to him this weekend. I pretty much studied for 3 days and I wouldn’t let him talk to me. I’m also sorry for anyone else I shunned (especially you, McKenzie, if you are reading this and it’s not too boring for you.)

I got up this morning with plenty of time and my stomach was in knots. I always get nervous about stuff like this, first day of school, first day of my new job, etc. I got to the testing center at 8:30 like I was supposed to and then I waited for 40 minutes for them to call my name. I think everyone else must have had fastpasses because a lot of people came after me and got to go take their test before me. I was kind of hoping they wouldn’t call my name until 9:30 because if you test starts 30 minutes late you can reschedule for free. It was kind of like in college when the teacher doesn’t show up for 10 minutes and everyone crosses their fingers and hopes that 5 more minutes will go by because there is that unwritten rule that if the professor is not there 15 minutes class is canceled.

I won’t bore you with the details of the test…plus I signed my life away that I wouldn’t disclose what was on it and they scanned my driver’s license and took my picture and my fingerprints so I think they were pretty serious about it. I had some extra time at the end so I went over the part of the test that I could (you can only see 1/3 of the questions at a time) I wanted to wait until I got kicked out even though I was bored after going over the same group of questions 3 times. Anyway, what’s done is done, as they like to say in my office…and we will know in a month or so if I passed.

After my test I went to John’s office and we went to lunch at Arby’s. Here’s the part where we talk about food…we do that a lot on this blog. I was so good, I only ordered a salad and some water. Even though the salad had apples and cranberries on it, it could not disguise the taste of the nasty iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce is not my friend. So every few bites I had to steal one of John’s curly fries to make my lunch more palatable. It was nice to be able to go to lunch together.

As for John’s weekend, he was bored out of his mind. He watched about 7 movies and did all he could to get my attention but I kept waving him away. He couldn’t find anything worth watching on tv and he didn’t want to clean the house. Maybe this weekend will be better.

And just for fun, here are two pictures my sister sent me of her husband and baby in April and May. Eva is getting better at standing in her daddy’s hand. And check out that hat rack. Definitely not any animal rights activists in that house.
