Catching up - November
You may not know that I used to be really good at keeping a journal. I have about 25 books full from as far back as when I was about 10 years old. John is also good about keeping track of his happenings. He has been writing in a Franklin Covey planner since he was about 12 I think. But lately I have been really bad. This has turned into the closest thing I have to a journal. So, I need go back and record a few things I’ve been doing. I’ll do this a few times but hopefully it won’t be too boring for you. Pieces of this have already been documented, but I found a few pictures I wanted to share.
In November 2007 we packed up about half of our worldly belongings and drove down to Aliso Viejo. The other half of our stuff is in the barn in Arroyo Grande. Someday I will get it back. Here is our nice ride. We thought we would be able to fit the mattresses in the trailer but that didn’t work so we had to come up with a new plan.
We moved down here so I could start my new job. Here I am on my first day of work. Look how short my hair is! And I actually did it that day. I was so nervous to start my new job. I didn’t think I would remember anything I learned at school, not that it would be the same stuff. But, I didn’t want to seem stupid. They haven’t let me go yet and it’s been six months so I must be doing ok. Also, this same week of my new job John started interviewing with Pacific Technology Solutions. He had the job in about 3 days. We were very excited. He started work one week after I did. We really are blessed.
After we got settled in our new apartment we decided we wanted to live in a cheaper place, so we moved a month later. We really like where we are now, except that we have a parking garage with lots of speed bumps. It killed the gas mileage on the Subaru. Anyway, also in November we drove to Las Vegas. John already posted some pictures of the car we rented. It was a Cadillac, one of his dream cars. But the reason for the trip was to attend my cousin, Charlotte’s, wedding. It was a wonderful wedding with lots of family and friends. John even ran into an old mission friend, he was married to the photographer who had been flown in from Washington. It’s a small world. Here is a picture of the new Wohlgemuth family. (I think I spelled it right?) Charlotte was beautiful and the guys were pretty handsome that day too.
I wanted to have some fun that day so I took a picture of John standing in the same place he stood back during the temple open house. He has grown a little, but he’s still cute, even if he doesn’t roll his jeans anymore.
