Got Rent?

Published by John under Our Blog

orange_county.jpg

So, we live in Orange County. The weather is nice and it does not snow. The best part is it takes buckets of money to live here. Just found out the cost for rent is totally out of this world.

The O.C. is No. 2 when it comes to least affordable rents!

Of course there is no other place I would rather live. Which reminds me, the movie Orange County is not bad either. JLB

McCain = Suicide Voter!

Published by John under Our Blog

Sometimes a political issues or politician comes along that I am very passionate about. I think George W. Bush has been one of our best presidents. I stand by his decisions and I think history will show that his decisions were visionary. I am also passionate about John McCain. I think McCain lacks core values and is an opportunist. I also think McCain is more concerned with being liked than standing up for what is right. He does not represent my personal views and he would destroy the fundamental principles of the Republican Party. At this junction, I now declare myself to be a: Suicide Voter!

I will do everything I can to ensure that John McCain does not win the presidency. I will vote for the Democratic presidential nominee. I will vote for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. I am going to vote for a Democrat because I want John McCain to lose by a landslide. I want to send a message that conservatives will not accept anyone that practices similar politics.

Yoga 101

Published by John under Our Blog

10 things I learned in my yoga class, by Becky

1. Yoga has a language all its own, and I don’t understand a word of it

2. Middle-aged men with fake red hair and bellies can teach yoga class

3. I can wrap my arms around both my legs and behind my back and clasp my fingers

4. I like the tree pose

5. I do not like the chair sit pose

6. A person who does yoga is called a yogi (correction, I just checked Wikipedia…a yogi is a man who does yoga, a yogini is the female origin of a practicing male yogi)

7. I shouldn’t wear such form fitting clothes to yoga class, we do a lot of bending and looking at our midsection

8. Sitting on the ground and twisting is a good way to clear out the intestines (that’s what he told us in class)

9. One hour and 45 minutes is too long for a yoga class, the last 15 minutes of laying on the floor with the lights off and the flute playing are not relaxing because you’re thinking, “how much longer are we going to do this?”

10. Yoga is pretty fun stuff

P.S. My friend Maria from way back (since 1st grade) just started a blog and she’s having another baby. Two pieces of good news. Welcome to the blogging world, Maria!

The office..

Published by John under Our Blog

Below is a picture I snapped a couple days ago of my office.

My office chair rocks. I guess it should I spent 65 hours sitting in it last week. ;-)

Of course my dream chair is the Stealcase: Leap Worklounge. I want red leather and you don’t want to know how much it is. [Pictures Below]

Weight Control

Published by John under Our Blog

This is how it goes; you go to college and eat junk food. You are able to maintain your weight because you are relatively active and you have time to workout. Then you finish college and you get your first job. You still manage to find time to workout. Then you move to a new place and start a new job. Your job keeps you really buys and you no longer have time to workout. Then you find yourself getting older and your metabolism slows down. Now, I am finally seeing myself gain weight. Nothing dramatic but the change in my life style and metabolism have made it difficult to  ignore how much I eat , what I eat, and how often I exercise.

As I have come to this awakening; I have decided to do something about it. Starting tomorrow I am going to exercise. I am going to exercise 6 days a week for the rest of my life. Sometimes my workout will be several hours and other times it will be only 15 minutes. If I exercise 6 days a week for the rest of my life; I bet I will be in better mental and physical shape than half of the people I meet.

On the right hand side you will see a widget and you can check out my running stats through my Nike+.

I have been using it for over a year and its the best tool for running I have every found.
