I like free stuff

Published by John at 6:35 pm under Our Blog

I have to say, I was impressed with the response we received to John’s post about John McCain. It’s fun to hear everyone’s opinions. I follow politics a little bit, but I have to admit I’m not that into it. I don’t even know who the house whip and all the supreme court justices are anymore.

Anyway, for something no one probably cares about, I wanted to share this picture of all the free Bath & Body Works products I got last month. You see, I had to go to Chicago for a training for my new job. We stayed at this cool place called the Q center. It is a professional training facility with dorm rooms and cafeteria-style dining, a work out room (that I did not visit), even a barber shop and a nurse’s office. It was pretty neat. Plus, I got a hotel size room rather than a dorm size room which was nice. I spent each evening on my big, soft bed enjoying my very own plasma tv late into the night. Everyone else went out drinking. My favorite thing about this trip is that every morning before I left I would hide the B&BW products in my bag and when I returned they gave me four new bottles and two new bars of soap. I came home with quite a haul…

Here I am in the snow outside the Q center. I am glad it snowed while I was there. I miss the snow this winter.

Way to go Becky! I was going to tell you to pack those things up every day and they would re-supply you, but I thought you would think that was silly! Love, Mom

I totally agree - free stuff is the best! And who doesn’t love Bath & Body Works stuff? Sounds like you had fun in Chicago - I’m jealous!

Becky…you are so bad!! I would have done the same thing. Your mama taught you well! Glad to see you with the snow!

Has been awhile since I’ve been blogging and am catching up- way to score great smelling stuff. And that whole suicide voter thing is funny. (Am I warped? I don’t know.) I don’t follow politics very much either and maybe I should care more, but I just don’t. I do like to hear what others think though. I’ve always thought it would be a little glamourous to go on work trips, until I worked and had to go to inservice meetings where the chairs hurt my butt and people just talked and talked about NOTHING. And I was never compensated with smelly soap.

    Karrie,
Work is not glamorous at all. The other day I stayed late at work to go to one of those “encouraging women to be successful” meetings. They had fancy seafoods and wines that I wanted no part of. Then they sat there and talked for about 2 1/2 hours and I got really frustrated. I was thinking I really would rather be at home with John than here complaining about how there are not enough women in management. The thing that made me most upset was that there were women there who I knew had children at home while they were sitting here talking about work. Really, what is more important?

I’d stock up on the Bath and Body Works too! I don’t get the work conferences. I’d much rather be at home with Dustin and Alex.
