Home Sick Today
I am at home sick today and John tells me I should be sleeping, but I cannot bring myself to sleep all day long. We are driving up to the coast tonight and I keep thinking I should be getting ready for that. Oh, well, I will enjoy my time sitting in bed and maybe in a little bit I will try to sleep some more.
There has been a lull in the blog updates lately, so I have branched out to reading blogs of friends of friends. Creepy, huh? Well, it’s really people I do know, just haven’t talked to for a really long time and I don’t think they read my blog. I added a few to my blogroll and organized the list. If you know anything about me, you should know that I love to organize stuff, probably to a fault.
Anyway, my little brother Jeff started a blog, which I think I already mentioned. My big brother Zach also started his blog off with a bang and the announcement that they are having another baby next year. My dad and sister actually asked me if we would be bringing a baby to the next Christmas party. They’ve been really good about not bringing it up, but I think they are all thinking it is about time. You see, 5 of my 7 siblings (me included) are married. Two of those had babies in 2007 and two will have babies in 2008, which leaves me next in line. We’ll see.
One more random subject. John got a calling in our new ward as the 2nd counselor in the Sunday School. He was supposed to teach a youth class last week but no one showed up. I have not received a calling which right now is okay with me. I have been able to fill in playing the piano in Relief Society and helping out in the nursery. I’m not sure what calling I would ask for if I could choose, except maybe Primary or RS pianist. I also accompanied the choir for the Christmas program, which was okay but a little shaky. Two of the pieces changed keys a lot and I had a tendency to play the interlude in the wrong key, which led the choir into singing what sounded more like a funeral march than a Christmas carol. Overall, it went very well and I got a lot of compliments on how talented I was at the piano. That always makes me feel good. Now I just wish I had a piano in my house so I could play more than just on Sunday.
