Movies

Published by John under Our Blog

I was watching a movie the other day that I have seen many times before, but by the end of the show I was crying. John just laughed at me. I always see those get to know you lists people email around and one of the questions is, name 4 movies you can watch over and over again. I always have a hard time with that question because if I like a movie I can watch it many times, and I like lots of movies. Some I like are…

Beaches (the movie I was crying over the other day)

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Rogers & Hammerstein musicals (Sound of Music, King & I, Carousel, etc.)

Steel Magnolias

Alfred Hitchcock movies

and of course, most Disney cartoons (I didn’t really like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I only watched it once a long time ago)

For you, mom, since you liked those other pictures, here is one of your house. This is as far as I can zoom in, but I still think it’s pretty cool because you can see how you live out in the middle of nowhere.\

And the best news of the week…we got a new car!

Ok, just kidding, we did get a new car, but the best news of the week is that my newest niece was born. My little sister, Lindsay was the first of my sisters to have a baby. And she sure is cute. Her name is Eva Lindsay and here she is…

Check out the fingers on the guy holding her…I’d recognize those fingers anywhere, they’re a sign of a hard-working farmer! Yep, that’s my dad enjoying his newest granddaughter.

Finally…..

Published by John under Our Blog

Well finally things are starting to come together. In March of 2007 I was laid off from my job as a project manager at Datamark, Inc. This was the start of our “adventure” that lead us to Aliso, Viejo, CA. In May we moved from Taylorsville, UT to Arroyo Grande, CA. We lived in Arroyo Grande and looked for work. I took a job working part-time for a company in San Luis Obispo and Becky worked at a dentist office part-time. In October Becky accepted a job with the accounting firm Grant Thornton. One week after moving to Aliso Viejo in November I was offered a job and accepted it. I am working as a project manager for a small company called Pacific Technology Solutions.

PTS develops and builds custom software applications for its clients. Most of our clients are automotive companies. The company has less than 50 employees and PTS has been in business for about 20 years. I have been working there for a week now and I am very impressed with the business environment. The people at PTS are very smart and dedicated. The products that we deliver to our clients are top-notch. I am very excited about this opportunity and there is a lot of potential for me at PTS.

In my previous life at Datamark my day was usually like this:
