Rush is Pricele$$
I normally don’t get into political things on this blog but this was too priceless not to share.
Rush Limbaugh made a brilliant decision about how to react to Sen. Harry Reid’s comments.
The current bid for the letter is $40,000.00; all the money goes to The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation.

The Office
Thursday was my last day working at the dentist’s office. It wasn’t my ideal job, but it worked out fine. I did learn that I am using the wrong floss and the wrong toothbrush. Apparently the Glide floss is coated in Teflon or something and doesn’t do a good job of getting food and stuff from between your teeth. I just really like how it “Glides” right between my teeth! And the Braun toothbrush by Oral-B is too powerful and wears down your gums. That was the opinion of the hygienist there, so you might what to check with your dentist if you use those products. I did learn that you can use pretty much any toothpaste you want.
I am excited to be moving up, but I am a little nervous! In November I will start my first real job since I graduated with my MBA. I am going to work on the tax team at Grant Thornton in Irvine. I hope I’m not in over my head! I’m pretty sure I’ll figure it out. My tax accountant brother, Zach, gave me his 800 number so if I ever have any questions I can call him!
In preparation for our move and new job, we went to the DMV yesterday to get our driver’s licenses. It was really quite disappointing. First, we showed up and were told that since John has never had a CA license, we would need his birth certificate. We decided that he would drive back to the house to get it and I would wait and fill out the papers. I sat in the waiting area and called the house to tell Vickie that John would be coming for his birth certificate. Obviously I wasn’t paying attention because the next minute I had everyone around me yelling at me and the lady at the counter (too far away to be in my line of sight) telling me that I cannot use my cell phone in a government building. I did not know it was a federal offense! You would think they would put up a sign! Anyway, John wasn’t back when they called my number, so I went up to the desk alone and proceeded to apply for my new license. When I lived in California before, my last name was Schaub, so they needed proof that I had changed my name, like a marriage license. I said, “well, I have my marriage license that says I changed my name from Anderson to Bunting, will that work?” She said okay so I called John and told him to bring it. I sat back down and waited for John. When he got there we went back to the counter and showed the lady our marriage license. I received my license without any problems. When John tried to get his, she took one look at the certificate glued into his baby book and scoffed at us. John told her that his mom has used it many times before without any problem, but she said, “well it doesn’t work for us.” (imagine a pretty rude tone) The copy of the certificate has an original stamp, but not a seal, so she refused to take it. Needless to say, we were pretty disappointed. I was really quite surprised that I got my license and he didn’t. I didn’t have any ID with the name Schaub on it! Later we came home and read the pamphlet about how “it’s really easy to get a copy of your birth certificate, just call this phone number.” (the call center only answers between 8:00 and 12:00 M-F, you have to get the application notarized and mail it in, then wait 12 weeks, easy, huh?) BUT, right there in the pamphlet it says “documents issued by Vital Statistics offices will …contain an impressed seal OR an original stamped impression.” Sounds like his certificate will work for the DMV, don’t you think? John can’t wait to go back on Monday to get his license.

We also went shopping yesterday for my work clothes. I haven’t really gone to buy myself any nice clothes for a long time, hmm, I think never. It was very fun. I felt like Pollyanna in the Disney movie when she goes in and tries on all the nice stuff and comes out with piles of new clothes. We probably spent all of my first paycheck, but I got some very nice things and I’m so excited to wear them!
Speaking of
, have you been watching this season? HILARIOUS! We really like the show. Last week we had Leo & Vickie watch it with us, and Leo almost died choking because he laughed so hard when Meredith asked Jim to sign her cast.
