We went to the pet store today and looked at cats, dogs, birds, snakes, rats, tortoises and more. It was more like a zoo than a pet store. John really wants to get a dog, and he keeps changing his mind from a boxer to a bulldog. There were two boxer puppies at the store and they were so cute! I had to keep telling myself, “they are really cute, but they are going to grow up.” But they are still really cute.
Here is a picture I found of a boxer puppy… http://www.doglost.co.uk/data/Registered/264.JPG

Vickie thinks the dog is ugly. So, I will fix it. This may be the first step to turning this into a “girly blog” like so many others. (There’s nothing wrong with girly blogs)
Last night we had a big bonfire on the beach for a birthday party for Mariah’s friend Jason. Leo and Vickie are pros at the whole bonfire thing, so they were responsible for bringing the supplies and the beach beans of course! Since Leo is kind of a cripple right now, John was responsible for getting the fire built. Leo delivered orders from his beach chair. There were lots of friends there, and Mariah and her friends ran off into the sand dunes. At about 10:30, Mariah and some of her friends decided to go swimming with their clothes on. They are CRAZY!

We really like living in California, and we’ve been to the beach a lot. Last week we went to beach day on Wednesday. A bunch of families from the ward meet at Avila Beach and hang out there all day. The older kids have figured out that the parents sit close to the water and watch the little kids, so they set up their camp directly behind the adults.
This other picture is me with my friend Oliver and his mom. He is a foreign exchange student from Switzerland. He was living with my parents in Idaho from January til May and then his mom came to pick him up. They spent about a month in California, driving from the bay area to Los Angeles. They stopped to see us on the coast so we went to Pismo and ate at Mo’s BBQ.
I really like that green jacket…in fact, I’m wearing it right now. I am not used to the cool weather yet, so I wear my jacket a lot.
